Manatee County residents won’t have to drive to Sarasota or Tampa anymore for the county’s first standalone Sephora store.

The high-end beauty retailer recently filed paperwork with Manatee County Development Services to build out a 5,000-square-foot unit at the Marketplace at Heritage Harbour shopping plaza near State Road 64 and Interstate 75.

An estimated completion and opening date has not been announced.

Sephora set to open in Manatee County

Once completed, it will mark the first flagship Sephora in Manatee County. Sephora has a beauty section inside Kohl’s at 5205 University Parkway in Manatee County.

But the nearest standalone Sephora locations for county residents are at The Mall at University Town Center and Brandon Mall.

Edgewood Properties, the developer behind the Marketplace at Heritage Harbour, shows the 5,000-square-foot building is located on the southeastern part of the plaza, according to its leasing plan.

That building is earmarked for a luxury beauty retailer, and leasing records indicate a lease was signed.

According to the leasing plan, a parking lot separates the building from a five-unit building that includes Nothing Bundt Cakes, The Now Massage Boutique and Michael and Co. Jewelers.

Costco anchors the shopping plaza, which is also home to Target, Miller’s Ale House, Academy Sports + Outdoors, Hobby Lobby, Seasons 52 and LongHorn Steakhouse.

Whole Foods Market is currently under construction in the shopping center and leases are signed for Cold Stone Creamery, Chick-fil-A, Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza, CAVA, Qdoba Mexican Eats, Lucky Goat Coffee Co. and more.

Beauty store’s company history

Dominique Mandonnaud founded Sephora in France in 1970, according to company history. The retailer operates more than 2,700 stores in 35 countries.

In the late 1990s, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton bought Sephora.

Brands sold at Sephora include Patrick Ta, Charlotte Tilbury, Armani, Kiehl’s, Nars and more.

Sephora offers various makeup, fragrance, hair, skincare, tools and brushes, bath and body products.
