Miller’s Ale House, a sports-themed casual dining restaurant with more than 90 locations in 10 states, is coming to the Bradenton area, according to paperwork filed with Manatee County government.

The restaurant is planned for 7175 State Road 64 E. at Heritage Harbour near Costco by the Piscataway, N.J.-based TH Harbour LLLP.

Jack and Claire Miller opened the first Miller’s Ale House opened in 1988 in Jupiter, Fla., the Miller’s Ale House House website says.

Evolving out of a 3,900-square-foot restaurant, Miller’s today has a building footprint of between 6,300-7,200 square feet, the company says.

“Miller’s Ale House is committed to significant growth and plans on opening 10-15 new restaurants per year. We are persistently and actively seeking new location opportunities,” the company said.

“We are known for our famous buttermilk-drenched, hand-breaded boneless chicken Zingers and Zingers Mountain Melt, tossed in your choice of sauces,” the company says.

Miller’s Ale House serves a variety of entrees, burgers, salads and sandwiches, plus weekday lunch and dinner specials, in a lively atmosphere.

“You’ll love our large portions, great prices, warm service, and shareable appetizers. Our full-service bar offers over 35 beers on tap and a large selection of signature cocktails and pitchers,” the company says.

Although the planned Miller’s Ale House will be the first in Manatee County, the Orlando-based company does have a history in the Bradenton area.

A previous Miller’s Ale House at 4401 Cortez Road W., closed its doors in 2005, citing poor business, the Bradenton Herald previously reported.

The concept may have better luck in Heritage Harbour, located near Costco and the intersection of State Road 64 and Interstate 75.

Until recent years, commercial development had been slow to come to Heritage Harbour. Construction on the master planned community started in 2000 on 2,496 acres of the former Harllee Ranch.

By the year 2014, more than 2,800 homes of the 5,000 approved there, had been built. But only 28,000 square feet of more than 1 million square feet of approved retail or office space had been built.

Costco created quite a buzz when rumors began swirling that a store was planned for Heritage Harbour.

The 293,328-square-foot warehouse store opened in 2019 and has been doing gang-buster business ever since.

Other retail came to the community via The Starling Group’s Heritage Harbour Retail project, a 55,145-square-foot shopping center at 8265 Heritage Harbour Green Way.

Also planned for Heritage Harbour is an Aldi supermarket, which filed paperwork earlier this year with Manatee County for a store at 8510 Heritage Green Way.
