This national Mexican fast casual restaurant chain is coming to Bradenton
A popular Mexican restaurant is set to make its debut in Manatee County.
Qdoba Mexican Eats signed a lease at the Marketplace at Heritage Harbour shopping plaza off State Road 64 near Interstate 75. It’s the first Qdoba restaurant in Manatee County.
An opening date has not been announced.
The restaurant’s menu features customizable bowls, tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, chips, dips and salads. According to Qdoba, all ingredients — from grilled chicken and steak to guacamole — are made fresh in-house.
Qdoba will be located in a 1,875 square foot unit near the planned Whole Foods, according to the development’s leasing plan.
Piscataway, New Jersey-based Edgewood Properties is the developer for the Marketplace at Heritage Harbour plaza that features Costco, Target, Academy Sports + Outdoors and Hobby Lobby as well as restaurants such as Miller’s Ale House and LongHorn Steakhouse.
Chick-fil-A is planned for the plaza’s future.
While Qdoba’s entry into Manatee County is its first, the company is the third-largest Mexican fast-casual restaurant chains in the country. According to el Restaurante, a trade magazine for the Mexican and Latin restaurant industry, only Taco Bell and Chipotle Mexican Grill have more locations nationwide than Qdoba.
Though Qdoba was named the No. 1 best fast-casual restaurant in the country, according to USA Today, in 2024.
The chain was founded as Zuma Fresh Mexican Grill in Denver, Colorado in 1995, according to company history.
It was renamed to Z-Teca in 1997, before adopting the Qdoba name in 1999. The restaurant is based in San Diego, relocating its headquarters to California in 2016.
Currently, Qdoba has more than 800 locations.
