What restaurants and stores recently opened in Manatee County? Take a look

Several new restaurants and retailers recently opened their doors in Manatee County.

The list includes fresh spots to grab a drink, lunch or dinner, as well as a new grocery store option.

Here’s a look at local business openings since November.

New restaurants around Bradenton

Ed’s Tavern, 9588 Buffalo Road, opened in the Gateway Commons shopping plaza near Moccasin Wallow Road and Interstate 75. It’s the third location for the sports bar. The others are in Lakewood Ranch, with one spot near Main Street and another off State Road 64 near Lakewood Ranch Boulevard.

The restaurant serves nine different burger styles, wraps, sandwiches, flatbreads, wings, salads and entrees.

Unique to the Parrish location is a golf and multi-sport simulator featuring championship golf courses, virtual baseball, football, soccer, hockey and arcade-style games.

Cornerstone Pizza recently opened at 5203 Cortez Road W. Mark Nilsen opened the pizzeria to continue his family tradition after relocating to Manatee County from Florida’s east coast.

“I want to be that neighborhood pizza joint,” Nilsen told the Bradenton Herald.

Nilsen uses his grandmother’s recipe for homemade sauce, and the pizzeria specializes in New York-style thin and crispy baked pizzas. In addition to its signature gourmet pizzas, sub sandwiches, appetizers such as pinwheels, Italian classic dinners and desserts.

Chicken Salad Chick opened recently in Parrish’s Creekside Commons shopping center at 8730 U.S. 301.

The restaurant chain features a variety of chicken salads using Southern style chicken preparations made from scratch.

Oar & Iron Raw Bar & Grill, 8710 U.S. 301 N., also recently opened in the Creekside Commons plaza. The scratch-kitchen concept specializes in seafood, steak and craft cocktails.

It is the third location for the restaurant, but first in Manatee County.

Seafood dishes include fish and chips, seared ahi tuna, roasted lobster tail and more. Steak dishes include New England steak tips, filet mignon, New York strip steak and boneless ribeye steak .

Aldi opened its first Manatee County converted store on Thursday. It’s part of the company’s plan to open 800 stores nationwide through new stores or store conversions by the end of 2028.

Aldi, located at 5805 Manatee Ave. W. in the Palma Sola Square shopping center, was converted from a Winn-Dixie.
