What’s open or coming soon to Manatee County? See the list of what’s new

Manatee County’s bustling retail and restaurant scene continues churning out new businesses.

Here are some of the latest to open or are planned to open soon:

Panera Bread opened at 7815 State Road 64 E. Unit 1 in September. It’s the third Panera cafe for Bradenton. The national chain, which began in the late 1980s as the St. Louis Bread Company, has a bakery, sandwiches, salads, soups and more.

Kelsey’s Coney Island and Deli opened over the summer at 7824 Cortez Road W. The restaurant brings Detroit classics to the local food scene, with the Detroit-styled coney dog — a hot dog topped with chili, onions and mustard — as the menu’s star.

Jeff’s Bagel Run recently opened in Lakewood Ranch to much fanfare. The chain started in Central Florida has developed a strong following on social media. Chris and Megan Matras opened the first Manatee County location in August at 14624 State Road 70 E. with long lines routinely packing the bagel shop.

Outback Steakhouse is opening a restaurant soon in Lakewood Ranch off State 70 East and Lorraine Road. Located at 12245 State Road 70 E., the chain restaurant is bringing its Bloomin’ Onion, steaks and more to Lakewood Ranch on Nov. 11, according to a company spokesperson.

The Dough Forge recently opened at 515 27th Street E. Co-owners Zo and Rikkii Rizzo are continuing the legacy of Zo’s father, Camillo, who ran Carmen’s Italian Cafe in the same space for years. The Dough Forge features Sicilian-style entrees and pizza with Rizzo using imported Italian spring water as part of the cooking process.

Zōtō, a Japanese izakaya — or tavern — opened recently at 190 N. Cattleman Road in the University Town Center area. The restaurant is home to an executive chef, who has worked at Michelin-star restaurants. Zōtō features sushi, small plates, premium sake and craft cocktails with a Japanese twist.

Seasons 52, an upscale restaurant chain that first opened in 2003 in Orlando, recently opened its first Manatee County location. The restaurant located at 7115 State Road 64 in the Marketplace at Heritage Harbour shopping center features a rotating seasonal menu. Currently, Seasons 52 has Brussels sprouts, butternut squash, cauliflower and pumpkin highlighting its autumn menu.

Rita’s Italian Ice, a quick-service chain specializing in frozen desserts, recently opened its Shoppes at University Town Center store. Located at 8539 Cooper Creek Blvd., Rita’s has a slogan of “ice custard happiness,” and serves Italian ice, frozen custard and gelati — which is layers of Italian ice with frozen custard.

McDonald’s recently opened a new location in Manatee County as well as reopening a restaurant it renovated. Both locations are in Palmetto. The renovated restaurant is at 699 10th Street E. and the new restaurant opened at 2425 69th Street E. off U.S. 41 near Interstate 275.

Yan’s Kitchen recently opened its restaurant in the Market Walk at North River Ranch plaza in Parrish. The Asian restaurant specializing in pad thai, fried rice, chow mein and more is located at 8731 Fort Hamer Road.

HCA Florida opened the first full-service emergency room for the Parrish community. Located in the North River Ranch area off Moccasin Wallow Road, the $16 million a North River Ranch Emergency facility is at 12145 Little River Way. It features 11 private treatment rooms, a dedicated trauma room, onsite laboratory, radiology, CT scan services, around-the-clock security and more.
