What’s open or coming soon to Manatee County? See what’s new

Several restaurants and retailers have recently opened or announced plans to open spaces in Manatee County.

The list includes new spots to grab a coffee, a cocktail, lunch and dinner, as well as new places to shop.

Here’s a look at which businesses have opened or been announced since October.

New restaurants around Bradenton

Casa Blanca Modern Mexican Tequila Bar opened at 4120 Cortez Road W., offering modern Mexican cuisine such as the Molcajete Azteca, several styles of Tequila, a dessert window and Tulum, Mexico-inspired vibes throughout the restaurant.

Jaxx Wing Co. announced it was taking over the space vacated by Gianni’s Pizza Express at 4927 96th St. E., Palmetto. Owner-operator Joshua Hatch said he’s hoping to open the company’s second Jaxx Wing Co. by Dec. 1. The popular local chicken restaurant’s newest restaurant will open next to Corporate Ladder Brewing in a shopping center west of Interstate 75 just south of Moccasin Wallow Road.

Wolveshead Pizza & Wings recently opened its second location in Manatee County. The popular Lakewood Ranch restaurant expanded to Bradenton at 5348 34th Street W. Owners Kenny and Caitlin Buchanan opened the restaurant, which serves New York-style pizza among other items, in the plaza anchored by Detwiler’s Farm Market.

Yūgen Omakase is slated to open in December at 190 N. Cattlemen Road. The dining concept comes from James Beard-nominated restaurateurs Jimmy and Johnny Tung, who opened Zōtō Sushi earlier this year.

An omakase in a restaurant setting means chef’s choice, and the restaurant is a 10-seat, reservation-only concept featuring executive chef Atsushi Okawara, who previously led Michelin one-star restaurant Den in Miami Beach.

Eleanor’s Coffees & Cakes recently opened in Palmetto’s historic river district at 449 10th Ave. W. The shop is located in a building that was once home to the Palmetto State Bank in 1912. The shop has teamed with Banyan Coffee Co. to roast their coffee beans, while also delivering a breakfast, lunch and dessert menu.

Culver’s is under construction in Parrish in the new Shops at Harrison Ranch shopping plaza. An opening date or construction completion date were not announced yet for the popular Wisconsin-based fast-casual restaurant that specializes in made-to-order butter burgers and frozen custard.

Kurō Sushi recently opened on Lakewood Ranch’s Main Street. Offering shareable plates and a melting pot of Asian cuisine, Kurō is the fourth different restaurant for owner Daniel Dokko in the area after Korê Steakhouse and two JPan Sushi & Grills.

New stores around Bradenton

Old Navy recently opened the county’s first Old Navy Outlet store on the east side of Ellenton Premium Outlets. Located at 5135 Factory Shops Blvd., the retailer opened in a 10,000-square-foot space.

Detwiler’s Farm Market made social media waves when chief executive officer Henry Detwiler and his son Sam, the company’s president, announced they are planning to open their seventh grocery store for the area.

Located in a roughly 43,000-square-foot space previously home to Winn-Dixie at 4502 E. State Road 64 in Bradenton, the new Detwiler’s Farm Market has a target open date of fall 2026.
