Manatee County residents planning to flee Hurricane Milton’s path or seeking a last-minute fill-up for their generator can rely on a few ways to determine if gas is available at nearby stations.
Word of mouth and social media postings are one way.
Another is an app called Gas Buddy. There’s an outage tracker map, where users can search for nearby gas stations and filter the following: has fuel and power; no power; limited fuel; no fuel and no power.
The app is available for Android and iOS users. The tracker is also available online at https://tracker.gasbuddy.com.
As of Tuesday morning, there are several stations with gas in Manatee County. Check the Gas Buddy app or website for the latest information.
The National Hurricane Center’s latest forecast on Tuesday shows Hurricane Milton on a path projected to make landfall near Manatee County between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
