Chipotle plans new Manatee County restaurant. Here’s where it could go
Popular fast-casual chain restaurant Chipotle Mexican Grill is planning to build a new restaurant in East Manatee County, according to building records.
The restaurant is planned for 16680 State Road 64 E. It will be more than 2,400 square feet with a drive-thru window, according to records.
Chipotle launched its ”Chipotlane” concept in 2019, according to Forbes. The outlet reported, “customers will be able to place their order through the Chipotle mobile app or via website, then pick it up in the Chipotlane.”
Chipotle planned near future East Manatee Publix
Chipotle specializes in build-your-own burritos, burrito bowls and chips and salsa. Each bowl can be customized with chicken, steak, carnitas, carna asada or sofritas, along with various toppings such as rice, tomato salsa, lettuce, guacamole, black beans, chili-corn salsa and sour cream, to name a few.
The new restaurant is planned for the Northchase Center, which is under construction near Uihlein Road. A Publix grocery store is planned to anchor the plaza.
It marks the third restaurant that Chipotle has filed paperwork to build in Manatee County in recent months.
In July, the company filed paperwork to build a restaurant in the new commercial development near the Seaire community off Moccasin Wallow Road in Parrish.
In December 2024, Chipotle submitted plans to build a location on the corner of Manatee Ave. W. and 61st St. W. in Bradenton.
Chipotle expanding in Manatee County
Currently, Chipotle has four Manatee County locations :

- 5002 Cortez Road W., Bradenton
- 11715 State Road 70 E., Lakewood Ranch
- 6020 U.S. 301, Ellenton
Steve Ells founded Chipotle in 1993. The restaurant chain, which is headquartered in Newport Beach, California, opened its first location in Denver, Colorado, according to a Rocky Mountain News article.
