Chef Gaetano “Guy” Cannata of Ortygia Restaurant, 1418 13th St. W., already took his break earlier this summer with a June culinary tour in Sicily. The restaurant will be closed again in June next year for the same trip. Cannata’s consultant April Childers said there’s a couple spots remaining for the trip and interested community members are invited to join. Call Ortygia at 941-741-8646 for more information.
Blue Marlin Grill, 121 Bridge St., Bradenton Beach, isn’t taking a formal break this year. The restaurant’s backyard, which owner Adam Ellis refers to as the “trap yard,” is in need of renovations and may close for a couple weeks in the coming months.
Any restaurants not on this list that are closing for a pre-season vacation can email jodea@bradenton.com to be added to the list.
