Hurricane Helene is projected to bring heavy rain, strong winds and possible floods to Manatee County and Florida’s Big Bend region. Forecasts, as of September 25, project Helene will strike Florida Thursday evening, September 26, and head north through parts of Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina into Friday.

We’re asking our readers to share their photos of the storm before, during and after it passed through the Bradenton area. Helene slammed through Manatee County as a Category 4 storm on Thursday before making landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region.
Forecasters said the storm could cause flash flooding, downed trees and other serious threats as it passes through Manatee County on Thursday. As of Friday morning, local agencies say there have been widespread reports of power outages, flooding and other hazards.
