Lottery player shocked after huge win in Missouri. ‘Still not sure it’s real’
A Missouri man was shocked after seeing he won a huge jackpot on a scratch-off game.
The man was at a store in Windsor when he bought the ticket, according to an Aug. 16 news release from the Missouri Lottery.
“I almost didn’t buy it,” the man told lottery officials. “It was the beginning of the month, and I buy $20 worth of tickets each month. I play off of them until I don’t win and then I’m done for the month.”
After seeing the black “7” symbol, the man decided to take a chance and buy a $5 Ruby Red 7s scratch-off ticket. Then, he realized he hit the game’s jackpot for $77,777.
“I’m still not sure it’s real,” he said, as he claimed his prize at the lottery headquarters.
The Ruby Red 7s game has had more than $10.8 million in prizes since its release, lottery officials said. There is one top prize of $77,777 left.
