Manatee deputies target DUI drivers in latest patrol. How many were arrested?

A Manatee County Sheriff’s Office DUI saturation patrol resulted in three arrests for impaired driving Friday, according to the agency.

The sheriff’s office Traffic Unit conducted the patrol as part of ongoing efforts to target impaired drivers on local roads.

Deputies arrested three drivers on DUI charges and tested two additional drivers, including a juvenile, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

The unit also issued three criminal traffic summonses, 51 civil citations and 40 warnings during the operation.

The sheriff’s office regularly conducts DUI saturation patrols throughout the county. During the agency’s previous saturation patrol in April, deputies arrested five drivers for impaired driving and issued three criminal traffic summonses, 62 civil citations and 40 warnings.

The next DUI saturation patrol is scheduled for Friday, June 26, according to the sheriff’s office.
