Manatee deputies target DUI drivers in latest patrol. See how many were arrested

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office conducted a DUI saturation patrol on Friday in an effort to continue cracking down on impaired driving.

Five drivers were arrested for impaired driving by night shift deputies on April 10, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Deputies wrote three criminal traffic summonses, 62 civil citations and issued 40 warnings, the release said.

During the department’s saturation patrol in March, deputies arrested seven people for DUIs and made six misdemeanor arrests, according to the sheriff’s office.

One criminal traffic citation, 54 noncriminal citations and 60 warnings were also given out to drivers in March, according to the sheriff’s office.

The next DUI saturation patrol is scheduled for Friday, May 29, according to the release.
