Aldi, fast-growing and low-cost grocer, opens new store location in Manatee County
Aldi has opened its first Parrish store, and sixth overall in Manatee County.
The new store at 8810 U.S. 301 N. joins the previously opened Lowe’s and HomeGoods as anchors in the Creekside Commons shopping center.
Daily hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
“Our stores are designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier, and we’ve been voted the price leader for six years running,” Matt Thon, Haines City regional vice president for Aldi, said in a press release.
“We’re excited to open our first Aldi store in Parrish and introduce local customers to a new, more affordable way of shopping,” Thon said.
Aldi opened its first Bradenton-area store in 2010 at 4705 Cortez Road W.
It also has stores at:
▪ 4525 53rd Ave. E., Bradenton
▪ 5715 14th St. W., Bradenton
▪ 8580 Heritage Green Way, Heritage Harbour
▪ 605 10th St. W., Palmetto
Aldi, which has opened more than 1,000 new stores in the United States, also has a seventh Manatee County store planned in Lakewood Ranch, north of State Road 70 and east of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard.
The company also describes itself as “one of America’s fastest-growing retailers.” Aldi recently became the country’s third-largest grocer by store count, according to recent retail data.
Benderson Development first won approval for the 300,000-square-foot Creekside Commons project in 2008 but put the project on hold during the Great Recession.
Initially, Walmart was announced as the anchor but was eventually replaced by a Lowe’s home improvement store.
The opening of Creekside Commons coincides with massive population growth and development in the Parrish-North River area.
