A new Greek restaurant is coming to Bradenton-Sarasota’s University Town Center
University Town Center is set to welcome another Greek restaurant later this year.
Blu Kouzina will join Apollonia Mediterranean Grill, Al Forno Mediterranean Grill and Subs and Louis Pappas Fresh Greek in offering Greek food at UTC.
Blu Kouzina is scheduled to open next to Ford’s Garage, which is located south of University Parkway in the West District at UTC, a news release said.
“The new location will feature a 3,500-square-foot indoor space designed right out of Santorini, with hanging basket lights, natural textures and Mediterranean pastel color accents,” the news release said. “There will also be an inviting outdoor patio that embraces the relaxed Greek lifestyle.”
It’s the second Sarasota location for Blu Kouzina, which came to the area in 2015 on St. Armands Key.
“Blu Kouzina was founded from our family’s love of sharing our native Greek and Mediterranean cuisine with family and friends,” said owner Dennis Tsakiris in the news release. “We want our guests to feel like they are in Greece, but most importantly, we want them to feel like they are entering an extension of our family home.”
Some of the restaurant’s planned menu will feature:
Spanakopita
Mousaka
Grilled whole fish
Lamb
Kalamaki souvlaki (beef skewers)
Kotopoulo fourno (roast lemon chicken)
Additionally, bottles of extra virgin olive oil that are grown and pressed in the Tsakiris Family Estate in Greece will be available for purchase, the press release said.
Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar opened March 1 at UTC, and the following restaurants plan to open locations in the area: the Yard House, Naked Farmer, Foxtail Coffee Co., Anna Maria Oyster Bar, Fat Point Brewing and The Breakfast Company.
