New restaurant and stores announced for Waterside Place in Lakewood Ranch

Deep Lagoon Seafood & Oyster House has leased the last remaining anchor space in Lakewood Ranch’s newest dining and entertainment district, Waterside Place.

Phelan Family Brands launched the Deep Lagoon Seafood concept in 2016 and now has restaurants in Fort Myers, Naples and Marco Island, Florida.

Other restaurants under the Phelan banner include Pinchers, Texas Tony’s and Phuzzy’s Boast Shack.

“Deep Lagoon was designed to take the art of seafood and the dining experience to new heights using the same formula for delivering quality product that made Pinchers so successful,” the company said of Deep Lagoon.

The company opened a Lakewood Ranch Pinchers Crab Shack on Lakewood Ranch Main Street in 2012.

“With the efforts of some of the best people in the business the Deep Lagoon brand quickly became a local favorite, sparking the demand for even more locations. The Phelan Family was happy to oblige this request and in less than three years opened what are arguably two of the most beautiful restaurants in Southwest Florida, Deep Lagoon Seafood and Oyster House in Fort Myers and in Marco Island,” the company said.

Deep Lagoon promises to be an upscale, casual dining experience offering dishes that celebrate fresh seafood, including Gulf caught hog fish, black grouper, snapper, oysters, and a “Big Chill Seafood Tower,” when it opens at Lakewood Ranch in 2023.

The restaurant will also feature signature cocktails and an “expansive” wine list, indoor and outdoor bars, a patio with lake views, and spacious dining rooms designed with rich, lagoon blue colors, metal carved artwork, and images of Florida landscape and wildlife.
