Brewery will join the lineup at new Lakewood Ranch shopping district
Good Liquid Brewing Co., specializing in IPAs, lagers, sours and more, is the latest announced tenant planned for Waterside Place, the town center of Schroeder-Manatee Ranch’s first village in Sarasota County.
The company, whose slogan is “a beer for everyone,” was founded in Bradenton in 2017 by Mike and Sandra Krail.
Good Liquid Brewing Co., whose first brewery is at 4824 14th St. W., Bradenton, is known for flavors such as Fruity Pebble Beer, Jalapeno Mango Sour with Ginger, Blackberry Raspberry Marshmallow Sour and Blonde Milk Stout.
The new brewery will be situated on the 6,200-foot Kingfisher Lake, the focal point of development for the 36-acre town center. Part of the ambiance at Good Liquid will be a separate, glass-enclosed brewing room. The building has a modern industrial look and has outdoor space with fire pits and games.
Waterside Place is slated to open in late summer but like its counterpart, Lakewood Ranch Main Street, businesses are expected to set up in phases. Good Liquid Brewing is forecast to open in November, Tom Johnson of LWR Commercial said Wednesday.
Customers who come to Good Liquid will also be able to get something to eat there through a partnership with Libby’s Neighborhood Brasserie, Johnson said.
Classic pub fare will include starters, hand-tossed pizzas and burgers.
When Waterside Place opens, it will have a ready made customer base with 350 apartments located within a stone’s throw. About 70 percent of the apartments are already leased and another 350 similar units are planned nearby. Waterside is expected to draw from well beyond the neighborhood, especially when the still-to-be built anchor, the 70,000-square-foot Players Centre for Performing Arts, opens.
Also announced this week for Waterside Place:
▪ 3Form Fitness, which was founded in 2021 by Michael Demarski, a 15-year fitness industry expert. Demarski aims to change the philosophy of the gym experience by providing an environment that makes clients feel comfortable, empowered, and supported throughout their fitness journey.
▪ ManCave for Men, a luxury, modern barber shop offering cuts and finishes, hot shaves, beard facials, manicurees, pedicures, massages, waxes and facials.
“Waterside Place is taking shape beautifully and I have no doubt that it will quickly become a lifestyle destination where residents and people throughout the region can enjoy unique, high-quality shopping, waterfront dining and entertainment,” Kirk Boylston, president of LWR Commercial, said in a press release. “We look forward to opening and sharing Waterside Place with our neighbors this year, and we believe it will exceed all expectations!”
Other previously announced tenants include:
▪ O&A Coffee, located next door to Good Liquid Brewing Co., with a walk-up bar and outdoor seating near a pedestrian bridge.
▪ The Yoga Shack, a 1,600-square-foot studio that will offer water views from its second-story space. Yoga enthusiasts will be able to participate in outdoor group classes at the village’s eight-acre park. The business was founded in 2013.
▪ Kilwins, offering hand-made ice cream and high-quality chocolates. Its Lakewood Ranch location will feature modern décor designed for the village.
▪ Korê, a new Asian restaurant concept by the owners of JPan Sushi & Grill. The eatery will feature Korean barbecue prepared tableside, a sushi bar and an upscale cocktail lounge with a selection of Japanese whiskey.
LWR Commercial is in talks to bring other eateries to Waterside Place, including a seafood restaurant and a steak house, Brown said.
Ground for Waterside was broken in October 2018 and will include more than 5,000 homes in as many as 12 neighborhoods. All neighborhoods are connected to Waterside Place via trails and many homes will benefit from water taxis to the town center.
