This coffee chain is planning 2 new Manatee County shops, building records say
A coffee chain with roots in the Pacific Northwest is planning additional shops in Manatee County.
Dutch Bros. Coffee, which previously filed paperwork to build two stores in Bradenton, has filed paperwork with Manatee County Development Services for a store off Moccasin Wallow Road in the Palmetto-Parrish area and one in East Manatee.
The East Manatee shop is slated for the southwest corner of the State Road 64 E. and Lorraine Road intersection inside the Elan Multifamily commercial development, according to building records.
A double drive-thru, a nearly 1,000-square-foot building and a parking lot are planned for the Dutch Bros. Coffee project, according to records.
A second Dutch Bros. Coffee recently filed paperwork to build a shop at 7210 Moccasin Wallow Road near the Seaire Lagoon community.
According to records, that location is also scheduled to be a nearly 1,000-square-foot building with a drive-thru and walk-up window.
The company previously filed paperwork for a coffee shop at 2108 Cortez Road W. and was announced for the Seaflower Village Center off Cortez Road West and 75th Street West.
What are the popular drinks?
The Dutch Bros. menu has snacks such as muffin tops and granola bars, but its signature items are drinks.
Seasonal flavors, classic coffees, protein coffees, smoothies, matchas, shakes and energy drinks dot the menu.
The Golden Eagle, which is an espresso with caramel and vanilla breve, and a caramel drizzle is one of Dutch Bros.’ popular drinks. Another is the Annihilator, which is an espresso with a chocolate macadamia nut breve.
A breve consists of half-and-half with an espresso base.
Dane and Travis Boersma started Dutch Bros. Coffee in 1992 as a pushcart in Grants Pass, Oregon, according to company history. By 2000, the company started franchising shops in several states.
