A new restaurant is serving sushi, hibachi and more Japanese cuisine in Bradenton’s Bayshore Gardens area.

Yummy Sushi opened its doors at 6220 14th St. W. in the Shops at Bayshore on Feb. 1.

Yummy Sushi replaces Oak & Stone Fastfire in the Manatee County plaza. Oak & Stone, a Sarasota-based artisan pizza and craft beer restaurant, opened its scaled-down eatery called Fastfire in October 2019.

According to property records, Lakewood Ranch-based company Quarter to Four LLC bought the plaza in October for $3.65 million.

Yummy Sushi menu offers dozens of lunch and dinner options

Yummy Sushi’s menu stars nine different sushi appetizer rolls, 18 sashimi or sushi rolls, 16 raw rolls, 22 cooked rolls, six vegetable rolls and 23 specialty rolls.

Sashimi style means slices of raw fish, while sushi can “incorporate cooked components” and have “vinegared rice,” according to the Food Network.

The restaurant’s specialty rolls range from $11.95 to $17.50 with ingredients including salmon, tuna, shrimp, lobster, eel and conch.

The menu also features various hibachi meals that come with mixed vegetables, fried rice, clear soup and a salad. Other dinner plates include teriyaki and katsu, a Japanese dish of fried cutlets of meat, served with sides. Udon and lo mein noodle bowls are also on offer.

Lunch specials are offered Monday through Saturday and include bento boxes and sushi and sashimi combos.

The menu’s desserts include green tea ice cream, mochi ice cream and fried Oreos or cheesecake.
