A casual, American-style restaurant chain is doubling its Manatee County footprint.

Known for their hearty meals and fresh-baked rolls, Texas Roadhouse is one of several planned restaurants for the commercial space connected to the Seaire community about 1.5 miles east of Interstate 75 along the south side of Moccasin Wallow Road in Parrish.

Seaire is a 3,195-home community featuring a 4.5-acre man-made lagoon, with Lennar, D.R. Horton, DRB Homes and Dream Finders Homes as the builders, the Bradenton Herald previously reported.

Tampa-based developer Metro Development Group is behind the project. The company debuted its first lagoon community in 2018 in Pasco County.

According to Seaire’s planning map, the lagoon and a parking lot are wedged between two future commercial areas that straddle Carter Road on Moccasin Wallow Road’s south side.

The initial site map for Seaire shows the development is planned for two phases. The site map is not final.

Texas Roadhouse is one of the restaurants the community’s website announced for the future. Others include Glory Days, Slim Chickens and Wendy’s. The community’s website also said grocery store Aldi, auto parts store AutoZone, a Circle K car wash and a gas station are planned in the area.

There are more than 770 Texas Roadhouse restaurants in the world, according to company history but only one Manatee County location. That restaurant is at 5710 Ranch Lake Blvd. off State Road 70 E. in Bradenton.

Despite its name, the restaurant did not begin in the Lone Star State. Rather, the Texas Roadhouse got its start in Clarksville, Indiana, in 1993. Founder Kent Taylor scribbled his vision on a napkin, according to company history.

Some of the restaurant’s menu items, which are made from scratch, include: hand-cut steaks, ribs, chicken dishes, seafood, country dinners and more.
