5 new restaurants coming to Bradenton: Chicken finger chain, Cajun, Korean and more
Despite global supply chain issues and inflation challenges, restaurateurs are not being deterred from their plans to open new eateries in the Bradenton area.
Among those planned:
▪ Crawfish and Crab Bayou Fish Market and Restaurant, a New Orleans-style eatery that has been in the works for about three years, should open about Labor Day, owner Tim Lee said this week.
Lee, a Bradenton seafood wholesaler, said construction and outfitting is essentially done for the new restaurant in The Shoppes at Ellenton, 3404 U.S. 301.
The Shoppes at Ellenton is anchored by the Hispanic-themed Acapulco Tropical Y Mas supermarket.
▪ Hong’s Hot Pot has filed paperwork with Manatee County Building Services to renovate space at 445 Cortez Road W., Bradenton, for a restaurant in Orange Blossom Plaza.
The restaurant would feature Korean barbecue, cooked by guests at their table, and hot pot, similar to fondue.
“The broth inside the pot boils over our specially designed heaters, and you have a variety of protein options (meatballs and thinly sliced beef are popular) to add to your pot. In addition to the protein choices, you can add noodles, vegetables, tofu and more into your soup. The broth comes in many different flavors,” the company website says of hot pot.
There is also a Hong’s Hot Pot restaurant in Temple Terrace.
▪ Slim Chickens, an Arkansas-based company, is preparing to enter the Bradenton area chicken wars with its lightly breaded chicken tenders soaked in a buttermilk marinade.
The Slim Chickens menu also includes meals, sandwiches, wraps and chicken and waffles. The company website shows six Florida locations with the closest to Bradenton in Tampa.
While Slim Chickens has not announced its plans for the Bradenton area, it has filed paperwork with Manatee County Building Services to build a 4,066 square-foot restaurant.
The restaurant would have a double drive thru on a 1.28-acre out parcel at Braden River Shopping Center, 14529 State Road 70 E., Lakewood Ranch. The shopping center is anchored by Publix.
▪ Corporate giant McDonald’s Restaurant/McDonald’s USA, LLC recently filed paperwork with Manatee County Building Services to build a new McDonald’s at 2845 69th St. E., Palmetto, on a vacant parcel. The restaurant would be near the intersection of Interstate 275 and U.S. 41.
▪ Culver’s-Bradenton, S & L Properties Lakewood Ranch LLC recently filed paperwork with Manatee County Building Services to build a new Culver’s Restaurant at 13020 State Road 64 E. in the White Eagle Shopping Center. The new restaurant would be near the intersection of Pope Road and S.R. 64.
Other previously announced restaurants coming to the Bradenton area include:
▪ Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Olivia’s, Owens Fish Camp and McDonald’s at Casto Development’s Center Point mixed-use development at University Parkway and Lakewood Ranch Boulevard.
▪ Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar, Yard House, 3 Natives Acai & Juices, Al Forno de Libano, Kelly’s Road Beef, Post Kitchen and Bar and Tandoor Fine Indian Cuisine are planned for the University Town District along University Parkway.
▪ Agave Bandido, Deep Lagoon Seafood & Oyster House, Forked at Waterside and Osteria 500 in Waterside Place at Lakewood Ranch.
