Feds found this man in possession of thousands of child porn files
A Sarasota man has been federally indicted for receiving and possessing child pornography after he was found in possession of thousands of images containing child pornography, according to U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Adam Daniel Young, 27, was indicted on Feb. 13 on one count of receiving and two counts of possessing child pornography. If convicted, Young will face up to 20 years in federal prison.
According to prosecutors, Young was found to be in possession of more than 3,000 images and videos depicting child pornography.
Young was in a U.S. District Court Middle District of Florida courtroom in Tampa on Friday, where Judge Amanda Arnold Sansone set his bond at $10,000, according to court documents. He was released that evening from the Pinellas County jail, according to jail records.
Conditions of Young’s release include that he have no unsupervised contact with any children under the age of 18 years old, not use the internet or any storage devices and not use or possess any weapons. He is prohibited from leaving the district or obtaining a passport.
Young was also ordered to have a mental health evaluation and undergo any treatment deemed necessary.
Investigators with the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force, which includes the Bradenton Police Department and the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators discovered through a forensic examination of Young’s computer that he was using an online file sharing program to receive child pornography.
