Roadway cleared in Interstate 275 vehicle fire
A vehicle fire caused a backup on Interstate 275 at the U.S. 41 exit in Palmetto on Thursday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol's live traffic site.
Reports of the fire came in around 5:30 p.m and involved a truck hauling a trailer on the northbound side of the interstate.
The right lane was blocked until about 7 p.m. as emergency responders worked to put out the fire.
At least two people were able to make it out of the vehicle and have no reported injuries, the FHP said.
