I-75 reopened after truck carrying cars catches fire in Sarasota County
The southbound lanes of Interstate 75 are now open after a car carrier caught fire Saturday morning just north of the Fruitville Road interchange, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Partial lane blockage caused traffic jams in both directions of the interstate. Sarasota County authorities report the fire was reported shortly after 9:30 a.m.
The incident took place on I-75 southbound near mile marker 210.
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office was assisting the Florida Highway Patrol with traffic control.
