Fire shut down Siesta Key street for nearly three hours
Higel Avenue on Siesta Key was completely shut down for nearly three hours Thursday due to a structure fire.
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office and Sarasota County Fire Rescue responded to a report of a structure fire in the 3900 block of Hamilton Club Circle around 1 p.m. Thursday, according to a release.
Fire officials requested Higel Avenue be shut down in both directions, according to the release.
The road was reopened as of 2:40 p.m. Thursday, a release announced.
The fire was in the wall but is extinguished, according to a tweet from Sarasota County Emergency Services.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office was also called to the scene to confirm the cause of the fire, according to a tweet from Sarasota County Emergency Services.
