Serious injuries involved in crash that shut down Sarasota street
Serious injuries were reported in a crash Thursday afternoon on McIntosh Road and Sarasota Square Boulevard.
McIntosh Road south of Sarasota Square was shut down for about three hours and reopened shortly after 6 p.m.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating crash, which involved a white Chevrolet van and a white Ford, according to a release.
Officials tweeted there were a total of four patients involved, three of which were entrapped in the wreckage.
All the patients were extricated and taken to the hospital, according to a 3:38 p.m. Sarasota County Emergency Services tweet.
Officials are asking motorists to use caution in the area.
