Farm Bureau names Buddy Keen volunteer communicator of the year
Callon “Buddy” Keen of Manatee County has been named Volunteer Communicator of the Year by the Florida Farm Bureau.
The award was announced earlier this month at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa in Ponte Vedra Beach.
A seventh-generation Manatee County farmer, Keen, was named Agriculturist of the Year during Manatee Farm City Week in 2014, in recognition of a lifetime of distinguished agricultural service.
The 2014 award recognized the Palmetto native and Palmetto High School graduate, for the citrus and tomato crop production and farm and grove management services, as well as his support for FFA and 4-H programs, and as president and co-founder of Palmetto Little League.
