Another week, another big property sale in Manatee County, this time $58 million

The 376-unit Champions Walk apartment complex sold for $58 million on Aug. 8, making it the latest in a number of high dollar sales of multi-unit residential properties in Manatee County.

The complex at 4148 53rd Ave. W. is located between IMG Academy and Electa Arcotte Lee Magnet Middle School.

Champions Walk, built in 1996, last sold for $30.1 million in 2013, according to the Manatee County Property Appraiser’s Office.

Champions Walk of Bradenton LLC, whose address is listed as care in of Abington Holdings in New York City, sold the property to Merion Champions Walk L.P., whose address is listed as 308 E. Lancaster Ave., Suite 300, Wynnewood, Pa.

Merion Champions Walk is listed as a pooled investment fund in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Although representatives of the company did not immediately respond to a request for comment, the Champions Walk web site, championswalkapartments.com is already touting new ownership, new management and big plans.

“Within the gates of Champions Walk Apartments, you will find one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments for rent. Conveniently located adjacent to IMG Academy offering an ideal off-campus housing retreat,” according to the website.

“Come and see how our clubhouse is preparing to undergo major renovations to bring a simply modern living experience to our residents through a new leasing center with Wi-Fi café, resident lounge and fitness center,” the website says.

Other notable sales of multi-unit residential properties in Manatee County this year include The Gardens, a manufactured home community in Parrish, which sold for $80 million, and the Lost Creek at Lakewood Ranch apartment complex, which sold for $50.5 million.
