Community Yard Sale in Palmetto Historical Park
The Palmetto Historical Commission is hosting a community yard sale 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Feb. 17 in Palmetto Historical Park. Thirty tables will be set up selling treasures and bargains of all kinds. Word of Mouth BBQ will be on site selling barbecue sandwiches and hot dogs. Alex’s Lemonade Stand will be raising funds to help fight childhood cancer. 10th annual Ranch Rodeo
The Manatee County Cattlemen’s Association will hold its 10th annual Ranch Rodeo beginning at noon Feb. 17 at the Manatee County Fairgrounds, 1402 14th Ave. W., Palmetto. The ranch rodeo will begin with a grand entry followed by events that include team sorting, team doctoring, a children’s “boot race” where children ages 5 to 13 compete for prizes, calf branding, double mugging, a kid’s calf scramble, and the final event: trailer loading. Winners and awards will be announced following the final event. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the gate the day of the event. https://manateecattlemen.com.
Exotic Car Festival
The second annual Exotic Car Festival is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 17 on Main Street, Lakewood Ranch. The event features more than 100 exotic cars including rare Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bentleys, Lotus, McLarens and more. The event is presented by the Ferrari Drivers Group and the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Florida State Fair
The Florida State Fair continues through Feb. 19 at the Florida State Fairgrounds, 4800 U.S. 301, Tampa. Bay Area Renaissance Festival
Journey back in time as more than 100 merchants contribute to the atmosphere of this charming 16th century village. Polo match
There are public polo matches every Sunday through April 5 at the Sarasota Polo Club, 8201 Polo Club Lane, Lakewood Ranch. Gates open at 10 a.m. and the match is at 1 p.m. There are also matches at 3 p.m. on the last Friday of the month. Admission is $12 per person. Children age 12 and younger admitted free.
