Don’t make Holmes Beach a ‘scapegoat’ for unchecked development | Letter to the editor

Adam Wilson, of Tampa, tells Holmes Beach we should be “ashamed.”

Why does he drive all the way here to go to the beach? My guess is because it is free. We’ve checked out all the beaches north and west of us and none of the parking is free.

Holmes Beach still provides over 1,000 free beach parking spaces, as oppose to the cities of Anna Maria and Bradenton Beach.

Our small city and its residents should not be the scapegoat for the over-development that has occurred in this region.
