Powerball player wins big in Florida. Where was the lucky ticket sold?
A Powerball ticket sold in Florida won $100,000, just missing the $244 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The ticket matched four winning numbers and the Powerball in the drawing Saturday, Oct. 11, the Florida Lottery said. Three other Florida players won $50,000 each.
The winning $100,000 ticket was sold at Big Bend Fuel in Gibsonton, which is about a 10-mile drive southeast from downtown Tampa.
Tickets sold in Illinois and Georgia won $1 million each.
The winning numbers were 13, 16, 18, 20 and 27 with a Powerball of 10. The Power Play multiplier was 2x.
Powerball jackpot rises
Nobody won the jackpot, which rises to an estimated $258 million, with a cash value of about $120.8 million, for the next drawing Monday, Oct. 13, the national Powerball site said.
Nearly 625,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot was last won Sept. 6, when players in Missouri and Texas split the $1.787 billion grand prize.
