Toddler was abused before his death, FL cops say. Mom and her boyfriend arrested
A mom and her boyfriend have been arrested after being accused of abusing her 2-year-old son, Florida officials said.
Suwannee County deputies responded to a home in Live Oak after getting reports of a toddler who was found unresponsive and CPR was in progress, according to an Oct. 14 Facebook by the sheriff’s office.
Deputies arrived at the home and the toddler was sent to a local hospital where he was later declared dead, officers said.
During the investigation, officials learned the child had bruising, swelling and other trauma that wasn’t consistent with what his mom and her boyfriend told officers, deputies said.
The toddler’s mom, 33-year-old Christian Parnell, and her boyfriend, Curtis David Willey, 33, were arrested and charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child, officials said.
The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 386-362-2222, officers said.
Live Oak is about a 170-mile drive northwest from Orlando.
