A Texas woman, her sister, and her ex-boyfriend were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide, officials told news outlets.

A co-worker went to check on the woman after she didn’t show up for work on Monday, Sept. 22, and he soon called 911, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office told KPRC.

Inside the northwest Houston home, the co-worker discovered three bodies “covered in blood,” the Precinct 4 Constable’s Office said in a news release. Deputies responded to the scene, and all three individuals were pronounced dead.

Investigators identified them as 30-year-old Yaquelin Arias Rivas, her 19-year-old sister Saidia Machado, and ex-boyfriend Sebastian Rodriguez, 40, KHOU reported.

Police believe Rodriguez fatally shot Rivas and Machado, then died by suicide, the station reported.

Rivas was a mother to two young children who were at school when the shooting happened, KPRC reported.

An investigation is ongoing.
