A North Carolina lottery player won a huge jackpot prize — but may not know it yet.

The player bought a Carolina Cash 5 ticket that matched all the numbers picked in the Sept. 1 drawing, making it worth more than $875,000, results show.

The winning numbers: 1-10-22-30-43.

The player is set to get richer after spending $1 to play the Cash 5 game online. The person who bought the lucky ticket is from Concord, a roughly 25-mile drive northeast from Charlotte, the N.C. Education Lottery wrote in an email to McClatchy News and on the social media platform X.

Cash 5 is a rolling jackpot game. To win the top prize, a player’s ticket must match all five numbers picked in the daily drawing, rules show.

The winner hit the jackpot on a lucky night in North Carolina. In the Powerball game, lottery players won $2 million and $50,000 prizes, McClatchy News reported.

As of early Sept. 3, the $875,300 prize hadn’t been claimed. In North Carolina, winners of drawing games have about six months to cash in, according to lottery officials.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
