Lifetime sex offender on parole kidnaps, sexually assaults woman in NE, cops say
A Nebraska man is back in police custody after authorities say he kidnapped, beat and sexually assaulted a woman.
Travis Bohy, 39, is charged with kidnapping, domestic assault, terroristic threats, sexual assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony and possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person, according to a July 28 report from the Lincoln Police Department.
Police were called around 2:30 a.m. July 25 after a woman contacted her friend and said she had been assaulted.
Police said they found the 36-year-old woman at her home with severe bruising and swelling to her face and cuts on her face and hand.
Investigators learned that the woman arrived home and was forced into a bedroom by Bohy, police said. He then repeatedly punched her, sexually assaulted her and held a kitchen knife to her while he threatened to kill her, according to authorities.
Bohy told the woman to get into a car at knife-point and drove her to farmland where he sexually assaulted her again, police said. From there, he took her back to his home and forced her to shower before taking her home, according to police.
Bohy was then involved in a chase with Nebraska State Police before being arrested, according to officials.
Records show Bohy was convicted of sexual assault, burglary and use of a deadly weapon and sentenced to prison in March 2012. His expected release date was Oct. 11, 2028, but he was released early on parole in March 2024, online records show.
Bohy is registered as a lifetime sex offender, according to the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry.
