Man stabs 81-year-old neighbor in the face and threatens witness, Hawaii cops say
A man is accused of stabbing his 81-year-old neighbor in the face and then threatening a witness, police in Hawaii said.
Keone Peter Tosie Brown, 30, from Hilo, was found hiding on his property after the attack that left the 81-year-old woman “beyond (life)-saving measures,” the Hawaii Police Department said in a March 30 post on Facebook.
He was arrested and faces charges of second-degree murder and first-degree terroristic threatening, per police.
Brown was set to make an initial court appearance March 31, police said.
Defense attorney information wasn’t immediately available.
The 81-year-old victim was found the morning of March 29 in her driveway on the island of Hawaii “with multiple stab wounds to her facial area,” police said.
She was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead, according to police.
“A witness at the scene reported to police that after observing Brown stab the victim multiple times, he turned his attention towards her and threatened her with the knife before retreating to his property,” police said.
Brown’s property adjoins the 81-year-old’s, according to police.
The 81-year-old wasn’t named “pending positive identification and official notification to next of kin,” police said.
