A fatal road-rage shooting ended with a man calling 911 on himself in Arizona, police said.

The incident happened just after 8 a.m. Jan. 15 on Interstate 10, the Phoenix Police Department said in a news release.

Two men got into a “confrontation” while driving on the freeway, police said.

One driver then shot 26-year-old Erian Sandoval, and the wounded driver crashed into a median, police said.

First responders rushed to the scene, and authorities said Sandoval was pronounced dead.

The other driver left the scene but later called 911 to say he was involved in the shooting, police said.

He was interviewed and then released by police “pending additional investigation.”

The case will be looked at by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
