Missing woman’s body found wrapped in a blanket and towel inside her garage, cops say

A missing woman was found dead when officers returned to her Pennsylvania home for a second search, authorities say.

Ivelisse Lugo, a 51-year-old woman last seen the morning of Saturday, Oct. 26, was reported missing the next day, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

Officers said she may have been with her estranged husband.

When officers returned to Lugo’s Elsinore Street home on Oct. 27, they discovered her body “wrapped in a blanket and towel” in the garage, police said.

Police said Lugo was pronounced dead at 4:21 p.m. Officers consider her death a homicide.

“Detectives said Lugo was stabbed multiple times and that the evidence made it clear the person who did this tried to cover this up,” according to WCAU.

No weapons were recovered at the scene, and no arrests have been announced as of Oct. 28. It’s unclear if Lugo’s estranged husband is considered a suspect in her death.

Daily Voice reported Lugo is the second missing Philadelphia woman in the past two weeks to have been found killed in their home.

Anyone with information about Lugo’s death is asked to contact Philadelphia police at 215-686-8477. A $20,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
