Dad fights off home intruder trying to grab his young child, Arizona police say
A father who found a stranger in his living room sitting next to his young child chased the intruder from his home, Arizona police reported.
The man told officers he was on the phone in his bedroom when he heard a noise from the living room at about 7:17 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, Page police said in a news release.
He ordered the stranger to leave, and the man tried to grab his child, police said.
The father punched the intruder in the face, giving him a bloody nose, and the man ran away, police said. The dad called the police, who found blood outside the home.
Officers later found the accused intruder, who still had a bloody nose, outside a bowling alley, police said. He tried to escape but officers detained him.
Police did not identify the accused intruder or list charges, if any, against him. An investigation continues, police said.
Page is about a 270-mile drive north from Phoenix on the Utah border.
