Trapped woman escapes houseboat when accused attacker falls asleep, Tennessee cops say
A man trapped a woman on his houseboat and assaulted her, then she escaped when he fell asleep, Tennessee law enforcement said.
Tyree Watson, 42, is now charged with aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said in a Sept. 8 news release.
Watson’s attorney information isn’t available in Davidson County records.
Watson invited the woman to a party at a dock the evening of Sept. 6, police said. At one point, she asked to use the bathroom on his boat at Four Corners Marina, but when he led her on the boat, he locked her on, according to police.
He threatened her life and choked her before sexually assaulting her, police said.
Watson eventually fell asleep, and the woman slipped away and found a dock worker, who called for help, police told McClatchy News.
Watson previously was convicted of aggravated assault with serious bodily injury, according to county records.
