Man dies after falling off houseboat at 3 a.m. into Utah lake, rangers say
A man who fell off the upper deck of a houseboat at 3 a.m. on Lake Powell in Utah has been found dead, National Park Service rangers reported.
Jackson Roy Law, 41, of Utah fell from the boat in Wetherill Canyon early Sunday, Aug. 25, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area rangers said in an Aug. 26 news release.
The man vanished, prompting a search by rangers, helicopter and divers, officials said.
A dive team discovered the man’s body at 12:36 p.m, rangers said.
An investigation by rangers and local authorities continues, officials said. No cause of death has been released.
Glen Canyon National Recreation Area covers more than 1.25 million acres on the borders of Arizona and Utah, about a 270-mile drive north from Phoenix.
