Knife-wielding group drags man from car after crash — then family steps in, TX cops say
Four people were wounded after police said a group of people with knives attacked a man and his family following a car crash in Texas, police told news outlets.
The attack happened at about 11 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at The Aubrey apartments on Houston’s west side, Houston police told KRIV.
A man was backing out in the parking lot when another car slammed into his, and a group of knife-wielding men poured out, police told the outlet. They dragged the man out of his vehicle and started stabbing him, police said.
Family members saw what was happening and quickly stepped in to try to save him, investigators told KHOU.
The attackers were apparently not deterred, according to police, as three family members were stabbed while protecting the man, the news outlet reported.
The man and his family were able to escape and got help at an emergency room roughly a mile from the apartments, police told KTRK.
“Their conditions are from serious to critical, and we have a couple also in stable condition,” a Houston police Lieutenant told the outlet. “We’re still working on the details that led up to this incident.”
No arrests have been made, and anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact the Houston Police Department.
