Motorcycle driver dies in crash with SUV on 26th Street West near Bradenton, FHP says

An unidentified motorcycle driver was killed in a Manatee County crash on Thursday, the Florida Highway Patrol said Friday.

The crash, which happened at 7:15 p.m. on 26th Street West, involved an SUV and a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist sustained critical injuries and was transported to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries.

The SUV was traveling south on 26th Street West and was approaching 52nd Avenue Drive West, while the motorcycle was traveling north on 26th Street West, according to a release by FHP.

The SUV then attempted to turn left in front of the approaching motorcycle. That’s when the motorcycle hit the right side front door of the SUV.

The crash remains under investigation.
