31-year-old man dies in a motorcycle crash on Cortez Road in Bradenton, FHP says
A 31-year-old man died overnight when he was thrown from his motorcycle traveling around the curve on Cortez Road in Bradenton, Florida Highway Patrol said in a press release.
The crash happened at 12:25 a.m. on State Road Highway 648, also known as Cortez Road West, where it turns into 44th Avenue East or S. Tamiami Trail.
The man was traveling east on Cortez Road when he went around the curve on 44th Avenue East and lost control of his motorcycle, FHP said.
He drove off the road, into a median and hit a pole.
The man was thrown from his motorcycle, and his body landed in a median.
His motorcycle continued to travel and eventually came to a stop in the road, FHP said.
It is unclear if the man died at the scene of the crash or if he was transported to a hospital then died.
