One dead after crash with traffic light pole at Bradenton intersection

A 36-year-old Sarasota man was killed in a crash with a traffic light pole at a Manatee County intersection early Sunday morning, Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.

The wreck happened at 3:34 a.m. at the intersection of 63rd Ave East and Ninth Street East, outside of city limits near Bradenton.

The Sarasota man was driving an SUV eastbound on 63rd Avenue East when he entered the intersection at Ninth Street and veered off the road for an unknown reason, troopers say.

The vehicle collided with a traffic signal support before rotating and coming to a rest in the northbound lanes of Ninth Street.

No other details about the crash were provided.
