Half of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge to close this weekend for annual 10K race
All northbound lanes of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge are scheduled to close on Sunday for the annual 10K race.
The bridge closure starts at 3:30 a.m and ends at 11 a.m.
The southbound lanes of the bridge will remain open to drivers.
The closed lanes will be occupied by runners competing in the Skyway 10K Bridge Run.
The annual charity event is hosted by the Armed Forces Families Foundation, a nonprofit that raises funds for military members and their families.
For five years, the organization has hosted the fundraiser event on the Skyway Bridge, and a total of $1.8 million has been donated to help military families in need.
