One of Bradenton’s biggest orthopedic groups opens 2 new facilities, moves HQ to east
Coastal Orthopedics, founded in Bradenton in 1973, recently moved into brand-new facilities, one in Bradenton, and the other near Lakewood Ranch and Heritage Harbour.
The new 88,000-square-foot East Manatee facility at 8000 State Road 64 E. opened on May 23 and serves as Coastal Orthopedics’ new headquarters, replacing the previous space at 5101 4th Ave. Circle E.
The East Manatee facility houses clinical services, an ambulatory surgery center, physical therapy department, administrative offices and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), among other services.
In Bradenton, the new 34,000-square-foot facility opened May 16 at 6202 17th Ave. W., just north of Blake Medical Center.
It replaces the previous West Bradenton space at 6015 Pointe West Blvd., and will house physician office space, fluoroscopy suites, a physical therapy gymnasium and a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suite, plus has room for future expansion.
“We realized that we were busting at the seams and decided this was the right move for the practice. Our mission remains to take great care of our community and provide top-notch orthopedic care and this building is going to do that. We’re blessed to live in such a great place with a wonderful community,” Dr. Arthur Valadie told the Bradenton Herald in April of 2021.
The surgery center at 5101 4th Ave. Circle E., will be moving to the East Manatee facility in the coming weeks, and patients will have the option to recover in private recovery rooms that are integrated with advanced technology.
“We are so proud of what we have created here,” Paige LeMay, CEO of Coastal Orthopedics, said in a press release. “Both facilities will allow our providers to serve orthopedic and pain management patients who live in the rapidly growing Manatee and Sarasota counties.”
The contractor on both projects was BBL Medical Facilities. The architect was HCP Architects, and Kimley-Horn was the project engineer. Both buildings are designed in Sarasota modern-style architecture.
“Now we can use these buildings as a tool for what we do every day, which is take great care of our patients in a comfortable setting using the latest technology,” Valadie said. “We are thrilled to have these buildings for our staff to do what we do best.”
