Bradenton man killed ex-girlfriend in medical complex shooting, police say
The Bradenton Police Department has arrested a Bradenton man in Thursday afternoon’s shooting that killed one woman and injured another, according to a news release .
Detectives say they found that Keith Roberts Jr., 29, entered the office suites in the 5200 block of Fourth Avenue Circle East, and allegedly shot and killed his 29-year-old ex-girlfriend, Myshaela Burnham, according to Bradenton police.
According to the release, he then allegedly shot a woman in the office who witnessed the shooting . That woman remains hospitalized, according to the police department.
Police were able to locate Roberts after 911 callers described the vehicle they saw leaving the scene. Bradenton police determined that the car was driving towards the DeSoto Bridge.
Bradenton man charged in fatal shooting
With assistance from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office and the Palmetto Police Department, the car was stopped, and Roberts was taken into custody for questioning less than 30 minutes after , according to the police department’s release.
After he agreed to be questioned by Manatee Homicide Investigation Unit detectives, Roberts was arrested around 6 p.m. Thursday, according to the police department.
Roberts is charged with first-degree murder with a firearm, in addition to attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, according to the release.
According to the sheriff’s office website, Roberts is being held at the Manatee County Jail without bond.
