Detwiler’s Farm Market announces new location. Here are the plans
Detwiler’s Farm Market is expanding its reach to a new part of Sarasota County.
The popular grocery store announced it will build a store in North Port near Interstate 75 off Sumter Boulevard.
“We’ve tried hard to get into North Port and just the right deal never worked out, so super excited,” company president Sam Detwiler said about the company’s first North Port store in a video posted to social media.
Detwiler’s plan is to open the new location, its eighth in the area, by late 2028, Sam Detwiler said in the video.

Henry Detwiler, the company’s chief executive officer, said produce, ice cream, meat and other staples of the grocery store will be in the new location.
“One of the cool things is it is a ground-up built store, so we’re gonna have some special surprises inside this store,” Sam Detwiler said in the video.
A start date for construction nor store dimensions were announced. However, Sam Detwiler said the store could be their biggest to date.
Manatee County is also getting a new Detwiler’s
In November, the company announced it had plans to open its seventh store — and third for Manatee County — in a 43,000-square-foot space in the Braden River Plaza off State Road 64.
That store, located at 4502 E. State Road 64, is planned to open by fall 2026, the company previously said.
Detwiler’s first Manatee County store opened in 2018.
