A new Publix grocery store opens in Manatee. Take a look at the new features
Manatee County’s newest Publix opened Thursday with features unlike any other in the county.
The Lakeland-based grocery giant’s store at 16642 State Road 64 E. in the Northchase Shopping Center has new specialty services.
“We’re excited to welcome customers to their new Bradenton Publix — the first location like it in Manatee County,” said Hannah Herring, Publix media relations manager. “This store offers more ways for customers to enjoy Publix. From grabbing a coffee at Pours to picking up a burrito bowl for lunch, or taking home sushi or pizza for dinner, it’s all about bringing added convenience, variety and fresh options together in one place.”
Pours serves beer, wine, coffee, tea, smoothies and acai bowls with a counter ordering area with some bar stool seating.
There’s a Pizza and Pasta specialty service where customers can get made-to-order whole pizzas cooked from scratch or self-service pizza by the slice, made-to-order pasta and appetizers, according to a news release.
A Burritos, Nachos, Bowls service offers customers with made-to-order dishes offering various protein options and toppings, a news release said.
Fresh in-store specialty popcorn is also available with flavors such as cheddar, caramel, dill pickle, Oreo, kettle corn and salt and pepper, according to the news release.
New Publix opens in Bradenton
The 55,701-square-foot store also has an adjacent Publix Liquors store offering various beer, wine, liquor, soft drinks and accessories.
The pharmacy has a drive-thru and Instacart handles delivery services.
Publix anchors the Northchase plaza, which was first approved for a 14.89-acre rezone into an 80,000-square-foot shopping center at a November 2023 Manatee County land use meeting, the Herald previously reported.
Publix filed paperwork with Manatee County Development Services in 2024 to build a store in the plaza, which is located on the southwest corner of Uihlein Road.
The new store is open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
